Senioritis

Taylor here!  I have one of the best jobs in the world working for one of the best photography studios in the world.  Part of that job will be writing most of the blog entries for i.g.

With school starting back in Gaston, Lincoln, and Mecklenburg counties this week, we’ve been hearing a lot from the class of 2011 about how it feels to be top dog.  My youngest brother is a high school senior this year and I recently asked how his first day of school went. “Did you knock over any freshman today?”, I said jokingly.   He replied, “Maybe, I don’t know.  I was doing Hardcore Parkour (a sort of “extreme walking”) through the halls all day so… possibly.”  It feels good to be a senior, right?  That kind of excitement and individuality is what we try to capture in all of our senior sessions here at i.g.  So, in the name of “back to school” time,  here are two seniors we recently photographed.

First, an East Gaston grad, Emily.

I love Emily’s dress! All of her outfits were really cute and she has a great sense of style.

Around the studio we’ve been calling this “the Twilight picture” – it’s a little dark, a little edgy.  And I haven’t read Stephenie Meyer’s novels, but from what I hear vampires are really really ridiculously good-looking.  Everytime we are talking to a parent or student about a senior session, we always have to bring out the Twilight picture to show off.

And now Macy.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Macy since she was a really little girl. It was fun to be a part of her shoot and see what a beautiful, intelligent woman she has become!

Our photographers are always trying to scope out new and unexpected locations for shoots.  Scott (who photographed Macy) has been using the Gastonia Post Office across the street for lots of seniors and brides lately.

Oh, and she brought her cute dog who was really well behaved.

Congratulations to Emily, Macy, my hardcore baby brother, and the entire class of 2011!  Twelve years down and only one more to go (:
